Dawn of Liberty in Islamabad

The evening of Monday 24 March 2008 became the dawn of liberty and rule of law in Pakistan after the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan ordered release of the detained judges.

Activists removed barricades set up around the official residence of Our Lord the Chief Justice minutes after after Yousuf Raza Gillani’s gave the order in his address to the parliament upon his election as Prime Minister.

The release for Our Lord the Chief Justice came after 142 days of illegal detention. He was put under house arrest on the evening of 3 November 2007 when Musharraf unleashed his second martial law on the nation.

From all appearances, the end is nigh for the tyrannical rule of Musharraf.

End of Martial Law, Tyranny Continues

Forty-two days after he unleashed his second martial law, Tyrant Musharraf has ‘issued a presidential order to lift the emergency and to restore the constitution by ending the PCO’, the New International says in this newsflash.

The state-run APP reporting the development said Musharraf “will address the nation at 8.00 pm today” over radio and television.
